11/15/2015 Saturday Outage - Fiber Cut

For our subscribers who had Internet troubles Saturday afternoon and evening, we sincerely apologize for your inconvenience.

A Telco contractor accidentally cut a large metro fiber cable at 3:30 PM yesterday out on Highway 62. Unfortunately, this resulted in a complete blackout of network access for several business in the area, including PriceNET's network core in downtown Okmulgee.

The cable was successfully repaired shortly after 1 AM early Sunday morning.

No word on whether the overzealous contractor still has a job.

9/18/2014 Network Core Fiber Transition

PriceNET is pleased to announce our transition to a pure fiber-fed core as of this morning. We still have much to do, but we're happy to have come in ahead of schedule on this very important milestone.

Now that all user traffic has been migrated to fiber, we have our next goal in sight: Building out a new network core in the McCullough Building in downtown Okmulgee, where we recently leased space for network operations.

The new core will tap the fiber ring directly at the source, allowing us to offer greater speeds and lower latency to all of our customers. Over the next couple of months we'll be building out new links to our towers and preparing to move the core components downtown.

We'll post another update when we get closer to achieving our next goal!

9/2/2014 Storm Damage -- UPDATE

Most service outages have been resolved as of 12 PM today. There are now only a handful of folks offline in the Wilson area, and we are working hard to restore their service.

More updates will follow as we have them.

9/2/2014 Storm Damage

Many PriceNET customers are offline due to the intense round of storms and lightning that continue to move through the area this morning.

Once the storms clear, we will assess the damage and begin making repairs. All efforts will be focused on getting customers back online before any other type of work is done.

We would ask our customers to hang tight while we take steps to restore service - we understand how important you Internet connection is to you, and we will work as fast as is safely possible.

Once all service is restored we will reach out with details regarding billing credit for all customers who experience outages for a day or more.

6/30/2014 Next Generation CPE's

This past weekend PriceNET kicked off its first upgrade to our next generation dual chain MIMO customer radio. These new units operate in the much-cleaner 5.8 GHz spectrum and offer superior performance compared to our current line of customer premise units.

Those who qualify for the upgrade - which requires total line-of-site visibility to our towers - will be contacted and offered this new equipment at no additional charge.

While our current crop of service units work well, this is just our way of staying ahead of the curve and making sure we always offer a cutting edge experience for our customers. Our first round of upgrades will be limited in scope to subscribers connected via our Coalton Ridge tower. Other towers will follow as time and scheduling permit.

6/27/2014 Transmitter Issue - Morris Customers Impacted

We diagnosed a failing transmitter on our Coalton Ridge tower this morning that is degrading service for a small pocket of users in Morris. We have new equipment arriving tomorrow and have scheduled a climb to replace equipment, pending weather issues.

Once the issue has been resolved we will apply billing credits to all customers who were impacted.

We sincerely apologize for this inconvenience, and are taking steps to quickly remedy the issue, including moving impacted subscribers to other transmitters where possible.
